President’s Update 5/10/24

Hello Artists! I have a few quick updates and reminders. 

1. "Do more 24" fundraising campaign. The studio artist page raised about $289.00 for our specific account. (Thanks to everyone who participated!) Those funds will be applied to the museum's security efforts. The museum has submitted a grant application to the state for a fence, cameras, phone and some other safety-related tools and upgrades. We should hear about that award in mid-June.

2. Studio 1B (where Brad was) will be used for programming this fall, followed by several different residency programs launching in January 2025. 

3. We will be creating a form for studio artists to contribute the names of curators, critics and collectors whom you think may be valuable to participate in programming - such as the gallerist/curator/artist networking event in the fall.  Stay tuned for more information.  

4. Thursday, May 30th, 5 pm- 8 pm - social gathering with artists, staff, and board at Caroline Brown's garden. **Rain Plan: block party in the studios** See attached for invite. 

5. Friday, June 7th, 5 pm - 9 pm is the opening reception for the summer exhibition, including work by the 2023-24 Artists in Residence Nasir, Zifeng, Cony, and Noel. Our studios will be open!
