TDC Benefits
As a Studio@ Artist, you will receive a complementary Delaware Contemporary Patron Circle membership. In addition to a free ArtSource registry, your membership entitles you to benefits including event, program and retail discounts, free member nights and reciprocal membership benefits.
You may participate in an annual exhibition on the common wall areas of the Studios@. A call for artworks will take place in early September for a September
The Museum Programs and Learning Manager might contact you with a request for studio tours or to teach a class or assist with an education program or event; any of which will be compensated with a cash stipend.
Each Studios@ artist may choose to be added to our website so that visitors and collectors can find more information. If you have not done so already, please provide Dr. Morgan Hamilton with a high-res image and an artist statement to be added to The Delaware Contemporary website.
Museum Programs
The Studio@ Artists are a significant part of The Delaware Contemporary and are expected to participate as actively as possible in First Friday Art Loops, and other Delaware Contemporary sponsored events and programs. There are seasonal Palette to Palate dinners in the gallery pairing exhibition art with a chef-designed menu. Additionally, the museum hosts a fun run and a party fundraiser. As a member, you receive discounts on event tickets.
First Friday Art Loops
There are First Friday Art Loops / Season Openers through the year with heavy foot traffic. The museum will provide extra signage during those events. Open Studios also take place during Saturday Artist Open House events in the fall and the late winter / early spring. We have committed to open studio for three (50%) of the aforementioned Open Studio events. If you cannot participate in the 3 (50%) obligation, you may hire an assistant and/or ask a fellow Studios@ artists who is not already participating in that Open Studio to studio sit in the tenant’s stead.
Open Studios take place on the First Friday of September, December, February, and June from 5:00pm to 9pm.
Artwork Sales
Artists will retain an 70% commission on any exhibition sale in the Hatch. If you sell work directly from your studio, you retain 100% of the proceeds. Should you prefer the Front Desk to manage the sale from your studio, you retain 70% of the proceeds. To do so, you must first obtain written permission from TDC with advanced notice.
